The Mohawks were founded in 1985 in the city of Brighton when a small group of like minded people join forces to play a game of Ultimate Frisbee. From that historic moment to the present-day, the Mohawks have been on the forefront of British Ultimate.
As a club, we have players of all levels and abilities, some have played for years and others are completely new to the game. Nobody gets turned away and there is no trial as we all had to start somewhere. We also play both indoors and outdoors and in all divisions (Open, Women's and Mixed). On a more relaxed note many players partake in disc golf around campus - an excellent way to improve your long throws.
Wednesday | 2-5pm: Russel's clump | Outdoors |
Friday | 2-5pm: Russel's clump | Outdoors |
Sunday | 4-6pm: Falmer Sports Hall | Indoors |
Players are encouraged to get involved in all aspects of the club. The social sector of the Mohawks is very active, after every Wednesday practice most team members have a drink and relax in Falmer bar, which is the perfect way to get to know everybody. The club is run by a committee of students elected by the previous year's committee, with the aim to better the club in all respects and to make it enjoyable for all involved. We have a merchandiser who organises our kit and disc orders, an event organiser who runs ladder leagues and organises tournaments, captains for all divisions and a president and vice to oversee the running of the club.
For more information come along to any practice and give it a go!
